About us
Godzinski Piano Duo is created by brothers Arkadiusz Godziński and Sebastian Godziński. They have been playing together since they were 6 years old, when parents bought their first piano. Godzinski Piano Duo achieved first major success in 2005, winning 1st prize at the International Competition “Concours Musical de France” in Paris . Musical abilities were develop at the Academy of Music in Gdansk under the supervision of Prof. Anna Prabucka-Firlej and Dr. Miroslawa Sumlinska. At that time, they obtained further competition successes: 3rd place at the International Music Competition Juliusz Zarebski in Warsaw (2013), 2nd place at the “Individualis” International Music Competition in Lviv (2014), 2nd place at the 24th Rome International Roma Piano Competition (2014), 2nd place at the 18th International Pietro Argento Piano Competition in Gioia del Colle in Italy (2015), they were also semi-finalists at the International Piano Duo Competition in Białystok (2015).
In October 2016, they began their Master Studies at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock in the renowned duo class of Hans Peter Stenzl and Volker Stenzl. For the duration of their studies, they were granted a prestigious DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship. Under the supervision of Professors Stenzl they achieved in 2017 further successes: two 1st places at the Concours Musical de France in Paris in the Artistique Excellence and Artistique Virtuosite category, 1st place at the 15th International Music Competition Premio Citta ‘di Padova in Padua in Italy and 2nd place at the XXVII International Roma Competition in Rome.
During masterclasses, ensamble worked under direction of piano duos such as Yaara Tal and Andreas Groethuysen, Sivan Siler and Gil Garburg, Anne Louise-Turgeon and Edward Turgeon, Dora Sławczew and Anastas Sławczew and famous chamber musicians – Ivan Klansky, Radoslav Kvapil, Szabolsc Esztenyi and Aldis Liepins. Godzinski brothers were repeatedly awarded by national and local government institutions for outstanding achievements.
Godzinski Piano Duo repertoire includes compositions for four hands and two pianos from the classical to modern times. During their music adventure, they performed at many concerts in Poland, Germany, France and Italy.
